PROMARKER VS COPIC

In this post I will discuss about the overall experience on the use of 2 famous marker brand - Promarker and Copic. As the previous post, you can see that I have tried to illustrate my products by using markers.

Colour
copic- the colour is natural - base on the natural colour of the objects
promarker- colour are brighter which is suitable for graphic designers and for drawing cartoon.

Price
about the same for both but atill varies in shops

Pen shape
Promarker is easier to hold than the copic.

Tip of the pen
Copic- brush side is extremely useful to create natural strokes and lines
Promarker- The tip is small and hence, users can use the small tip for small details

However, some copic markers also have small tip - depending on the modal of the pen.

Overall, I still prefer to use Copic than the Promarker as I feel more comfortable when using copic as I am familar with it.

The use of colour pencil and marker.

Since markers are expensive so i will selectively use only the important marker colour and use colour pencil to create some extra stoke or include small details on the work. Especially for the white colour pencil - it is very useful to use while colour pencil to highlight some certain strokes on the work, making the work looks more realistic and 3 dimensional.

Comments

  1. Interesting compare and contrast. I've never used copic markers, so this is informative for me. Don't forget to check the marking criteria and check you have covered everything. Your outcomes are really excellent so I look forward to seeing your final reflection.

  2. I totally agree with Carrie. Your comments remind me of discussing the merits of different brushes with artists! I would add that it would help the reader's understanding to see some photographs of examples, illustrating the differences you discuss.
