Biodegradable and recycling materials

In this post, I will mention about the possible materials which will be used for my major project.

This packaging is for Japanese tea - Midori

This is Bamboo packaging which the shape remains pretty much natural. Since it is natural materials, it is biodegradable and recycling materials. The cost is not really expensive. However, such materials can only find in some certain part of the world such as China and Thailand. Not all places can grow bamboo

In term of the price, paper plate 23 cm sugar cane paper (100 units) are for 8.49 pound according to viking-direct
Hence, the price is more expensive than typical plastic used for disposable utensils. This material is one of the biodegradable materials. I would like to design a packaging which  includes this material. To add on ,it can hold liquid and hot/ cold food as like plastic containers

Wood is another alternative source and it is natural material. I am able to avoid paper by crafting the logo of the brand and food information directly on the wood. This will save paper. I personally like the texture of the wood as the lines on the wood are indeed interesting.

This research on materials gives me a better idea about materials i should use. There are various materials which can be replaced plastic. Furthermore, all materials can be found in nature and biodegradable and recyclable.
